Rookie Henrik Zetterberg scores his first NHL Goal on October 13, 2002, a power play goal at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim. On ice for Detroit were four likely Hall of Fame Inductees: Chelios, Shanahan, Robitaille, and Zetterberg, plus Bykov. It was the third game of the season for the defending Stanley Cup Champions. Rather than paying the traditional respect to the Stanley Cup winning team by allowing them to raise the banner opening night in front of a home crowd, NHL, Inc., sent the Detroit Red Wings on a showcase, fund raising west coast trip to prop up the sagging franchises in Anaheim, Los Angeles, and San Jose. By the boisterous cheering from the crowd you can detect the always large Red Wing portion of the 17174 in attendance in Anaheim.
